HOPE 01 Loadout Checklist

Tick these boxes at the hideout door before you raid the Cluster.

Last updated:

Open this page while the hideout fabricator is on screen. HOPE 01 wipes are usually a skipped box, not a lack of mechanical skill. Tick every line that applies, then leave. For why each line exists, use Early Loadouts, Fabricator, and How to Extract.

This is a practical list for Steam Early Access. It will not name every one of the 70+ guns. It will name every verb that keeps a bag alive.

1. Extract plan (do this first)

  • I can name the extract I intend to use (Hab Rail / Manorial / other known point).
  • I can name a backup if that timer dies.
  • I looked at the HUD clock location (top of screen; B or Tab reminds you).
  • I am not entering a one-way drop unless the bag is allowed to die.

If you fail this block, close the Cluster. Read Hab Cluster Map and come back.

2. Gun and mag

  • Primary is a gun I have scanned (or I accept a total loss).
  • I know which of the four stats I am counting on: RoF, muzzle velocity, reload, penetration. Weapons.
  • Matching ammo is in the grid.
  • At least one magazine is loaded by dragging ammo onto it, not by hope.
  • A spare loaded mag exists if I expect a fight.
  • Melee is in my head: Space attack, knife if that is the held tool. Controls.
  • I can dodge (double-tap A or D) without thinking.

If you fail mag lines, you do not have a gun. You have a melee stick that occupies tetris.

3. Light and gadgets

  • Utility slot has a flashlight or the gun has a mounted tactical light.
  • I remember that handheld light is hold left click, and that I cannot shoot while I hold it unless the light is on the gun.
  • Caloric converter is in the bag only if food is also in the bag.
  • No gadget is sitting in the light slot “just to try” on a dark first visit. Gadgets.

4. Food, water, medical

  • At least one food item printed or looted (public fabrics exist for this).
  • At least one drink if thirst has been a problem on recent runs.
  • One medical item if medical fabrics allow and the route is medical-heavy.
  • I did not spend my last medical bricks on a novelty print.

Hunger is a timer that does not show like Manorial and will still ruin the rail.

5. Fabrics and scan list

  • I know which colour I am farming: public / everyday, medical, or military.
  • I will pick up bricks of that colour even if a shiny gun is on the floor.
  • Grid has a hole for bricks.
  • Grid has a hole for one blue (unscanned) item.
  • I will scan blues at hideout before I celebrate. Field scans only if a fabricator is on the way and the timer is kind.

If you cannot tell fabric colours apart, stay in the Fabricator article until you can. They do not substitute.

6. Bag honesty

  • Nothing in the run grid is an unscanned unique I cannot bear to lose — or I will extract the moment I have it, no extra rooms.
  • No duplicate scanned pistols filling the last two rows.
  • Armour / vest is scanned if I am wearing it, and it did not eat the brick hole.
  • I will not open a full tetris sort on a live platform.

7. Boss and quest riders (optional)

Only tick if this raid is actually about that:

  • Boss attempt: bag is clean, extra mag, food, light, penetration I understand. Boss Fights.
  • Quest courier: quest item has a hole, I will not shop.
  • I still have an extract plan. Quests do not disable timers.

8. After you come home (the other checklist)

People skip this and then wonder why the fabricator is empty.

  • Stash tab: park keepers.
  • Scan every remaining blue dot.
  • Print food for the next raid before printing a new body.
  • Reload mags now, not on the next threshold.
  • Note one new landmark if I learned a door.
  • If I died, I still have recipes. I do not have the bag. Rebuild Kit A, not a revenge rifle.

Fast versions

Thirty-second door check: extract named, mag loaded, light in slot, food in bag, hole in grid. If any fail, do not walk out.

After a wipe: skip weapon shopping. Tick sections 2, 3, 4. Most Steam-review deaths are dark rooms, dry mags, or missed rails.

After a patch: if Updates Hub mentions fabrics, bosses, or difficulty, re-tick section 5. Print costs move.

Pairing

Tick boxes. Then go find HAB 01, not the other way around.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the shortest version of this checklist?

Named extract, loaded mag, light, food, empty grid hole. If any of those five fail, stay in the hideout.

Do I need a different list for bosses?

Add a clean bag, extra mag, and a gun whose penetration you trust. Section 7 and Boss Fights cover it.

Why is food on a loadout list?

Food and water are survival stats. A caloric converter also consumes calories. Print consumables at the Fabricator.

Should I tick this on every raid?

Until extracts are boring, yes. After that, use the thirty-second door check.

Where do I read the kit theory behind these boxes?

Early Loadouts explains Kit A–D. This page is only the ticks.
