HOPE 01 Early Access Roadmap

What Bending Boy Games said is in, what they plan to add, and what they want feedback on.

Last updated:

HOPE 01 does not ship a colourful public Trello on the store page. The roadmap is the Steam Early Access questionnaire, a pre-launch community post about difficulty focus, and later Steam news posts. This page gathers those statements so you can tell a missing gun from a missing district. It is not a dated Gantt chart, because the developer did not publish one.

For the day-one snapshot see Early Access Launch. For live patch habits see Updates Hub.

Official time box

“Most of the initial planned features are in, so around a year or less.”

That sentence is the whole calendar. Early Access began September 15, 2026. A year or less from that date is the window they were willing to print. They also said the price is planned to remain the same after EA, so waiting for a sale-as-roadmap is not a strategy they advertised.

Already in (do not wait for these)

You can play, in the current EA build:

  • A completable campaign with multiple endings.
  • Extraction loop: loot, extract, stash, or die and lose the run bag.
  • Fabricator scan-and-print with 200+ / 250+ item collect goals depending on which Steam paragraph you quote.
  • 70+ weapons with rate of fire, muzzle velocity, reload, and penetration.
  • 60+ enemies, numerous bosses.
  • 50+ quests.
  • Metroidvania-style interconnected Hab Cluster.
  • Single-player PvE, English only, Windows + Linux, about 70 MB on Windows.

If you are holding off because “Early Access means a tutorial,” that is not this game. Play Getting Started and decide after two extracts.

Planned additions (the actual roadmap)

Steam’s “how will the full version differ” answer:

  • More quests and endings.
  • More guns and gadgets.
  • More enemies and boss fights.

That is the content column. It matches the pre-launch note that EA focus would be difficulty: fabric amounts, enemy balance, boss fights, quests, and similar systems, with a design-philosophy post promised so players could give feedback that fit the vision.

Read that as: the skeleton is in, the numbers will move, the roster will grow. It is not a promise of networked extra players, a new language pack, or a different engine. Those were not in the questionnaire. The store remains a single-player product.

Feedback they asked for

Bending Boy Games named Discord and Steam community forums as the places they will collect bug reports and discussion. They also said they would communicate vision so conversation stays constructive. Practical translation:

  • Report broken extracts, unusable UI slots, dodge bugs, performance (uncapped FPS), and quest flags that brick a save.
  • Argue fabric amounts and boss fairness with clips, not with “make it a PvP extraction shooter.” This is a single-player pixel-art RPG.
  • Do not demand a feature they already left off the questionnaire.

URLs live on Links Hub.

What that means for your hideout

Because fabrics, enemies, and bosses are tuning targets:

  • Scan everything. Blueprints survive retunes. Fabricator.
  • Do not dump military bricks into a meme gun the week a balance pass is likely.
  • Keep a farmer kit from Early Loadouts even after you own a boss rifle.
  • Re-read Weapons as roles, not as names, after gun patches.
  • Re-clear a boss after a fight patch instead of assuming your old dodge window. Boss Fights.
  • Map notes stay valid longer than loot tables. Landmark rails; do not drop with groceries. Hab Cluster Map.

What we will not put on this roadmap

  • A 1.0 month. They did not print one.
  • A count of remaining endings. They said “more,” not “exactly two more.”
  • Console SKUs. Steam Windows and Linux are the listed platforms.
  • Extra networked players. The store lists single-player.
  • New official in-game languages. English is the listed language.

If those appear in a future Steam news post, they belong here. Until then they are wishlists.

How to follow along

  1. Wishlist or own the game on Steam so news posts actually reach you.
  2. Join Discord if you will file a bug more than once.
  3. After each Steam news post, ask the six questions on Updates Hub: fabrics, enemies, bosses, quests, controls, performance.
  4. Re-tick Loadout Checklist if print costs moved.
  5. Keep extracting. A roadmap is not a reason to sit in the hideout for a year.

The honest pitch is already on Steam: most of the game is in, the rest is more of the same kinds of things, and they want you in the Cluster while they tune it. Find HAB 01 on the current build. Let the extra guns arrive while you still remember how the rail timer works.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is there a dated HOPE 01 roadmap?

Not a public month-by-month chart. The Steam EA questionnaire plus community posts are the source: about a year or less, with more quests, endings, guns, gadgets, enemies, and bosses.

Can I finish the game before 1.0?

Yes. The current Early Access build is described as completable with multiple endings. More endings are still planned.

What should I give feedback on?

Difficulty, fabric amounts, enemy balance, bosses, and quests — the targets the developer named — plus bugs. Use Discord or Steam forums from Links Hub.

Will the price change at 1.0?

The developer wrote that the price is planned to remain the same during and after Early Access.

Should I delay playing until more guns exist?

Only if you dislike extraction loops. 70+ weapons and a full campaign are already in. Start with Getting Started.
