HOPE 01 Early Access Updates Hub
Early Access notes, patch habits, and the public roadmap.
HOPE 01 entered Steam Early Access on September 15, 2026. Bending Boy Games is a small studio using EA to collect feedback while the campaign is already completable. This hub tracks what they have said in public, what the first builds contained, and how to read future patch notes without panicking your fabricator.
Child pages:
- Early Access Launch — day-one contents, price, demo takedown, launch-week fixes.
- Roadmap — “about a year or less,” more quests, endings, guns, gadgets, enemies, bosses.
When a patch lands, re-check Fabricator if fabrics moved, Boss Fights if arenas moved, and the Loadout Checklist if print costs changed. Do not throw out scanned blueprints; throw out assumptions about prices.
What Early Access already is
Steam’s own EA questionnaire (developer answers) is the primary source:
- Why EA? To use player feedback and ideas while deciding focus.
- How long? Most initial planned features are in, so around a year or less.
- Full version vs EA? More quests and endings, more guns and gadgets, more enemies and boss fights, on top of current content.
- Current state? Completable, with 250+ items to collect, 60+ enemies, numerous bosses, 50+ quests, multiple endings. Playtests averaged about 50–70 hours for a first ending.
- Price after EA? Planned to remain the same.
- Community? Discord and Steam forums, with the developer communicating vision so feedback stays constructive.
The store feature list still sells 70+ weapons and 200+ useful fabricator items; the EA questionnaire uses the 250+ collectables phrasing. Both are “a lot.” We quote both rather than pretending they are a single spreadsheet.
How to read a HOPE 01 patch
Ignore marketing adjectives. Look for:
- Fabrics. Amounts, drop rates, print costs. This is a stated tuning target. Your S-tier cheap gun can become a luxury overnight.
- Enemy balance. Hallway trash versus medical density.
- Boss fights. New bosses, retuned arenas, one-way drops.
- Quests. New NPCs, new locks on the Metroidvania map.
- Controls bugs. A launch-period note already mentioned a minor single-button dodge fix. Dodge is load-bearing. See Controls.
- Performance. Uncapped FPS making input feel late has already shown up in Steam discussions. System Requirements.
If none of those six moved, your Early Loadouts kit is probably still legal.
Demo versus Early Access
A public Steam post before EA said the demo would come down for launch because the game had changed, and that the demo might return later if time allowed. Demo slice (store text) was about an hour or two: 40+ guns, 20+ gadgets, one NPC quest slice, a tiny labyrinth, one boss, one spawn. EA is the full current campaign, not that slice with a price tag.
If a guide on this wiki talks about demo-only limits, it will say so. Systems (scan, extract, fabrics) carried forward; room count did not stay tiny.

Links Hub collects those URLs. This wiki is fan-made. When our pages disagree with a Steam news post, Steam wins.
What we will not do on this hub
- Invent patch numbers we have not seen.
- Promise a 1.0 calendar date the developer did not print.
- Treat Steam review-score snapshots as patch notes.
- Tell you the game is “finished.” It is Early Access on purpose, even though a full run with endings already exists.
Player habits that survive every patch
- Scan blues before you flex.
- Extract bricks.
- Print food first.
- Name a rail.
- Cap FPS if the mouse feels drunk.
Those habits are in Getting Started and they outrank any changelog. Use this hub to know what the studio is aiming at, then go play the Cluster.
Next stop: the day-one snapshot on Early Access Launch, then the Roadmap so you know which missing gun is a plan and which is a room you have not opened yet.
