HOPE 01 Complete Guides Hub
Extraction, fabricator, map, and boss tutorials for the Hab Cluster.
HOPE 01 is a single-player extraction survival RPG from Bending Boy Games. You wake in a deteriorating underground facility, take a mysterious request to find HAB 01, and then spend every run trying to loot the Hab Cluster and get out alive. This hub is the map of every tutorial on the wiki. Start with Getting Started if you have not extracted even once, then jump to the page that matches the pain you actually hit.
The game mixes extraction shooter stakes with a Metroidvania-style interconnected map. Loot is not yours until you extract and stash it. Die in the Cluster and the run gear goes with you. That single rule explains why the wiki is organised around loops, not lore dumps: how you move, how you print, how you leave, and how you fight when leaving is not an option.
First hour, in order
New scavengers usually fail the same way. They treat the first spawn like an action game, fill every inventory tile with junk, miss the extract timer, and return to the hideout with nothing scanned. Do the opposite.
- Learn the keys in Controls. Dodge, flashlight, and magazine loading are not optional flavour.
- Treat the hideout as a workshop. Scan everything with a blue marker in the Fabricator before you print a single luxury gun.
- Plan the exit before the loot. How to Extract covers monorail and backup points, including what happens if you miss the Manorial timer.
- Walk a real first-session route in the Beginner Walkthrough.
If you only read one page besides this hub, make it extraction. A full backpack that dies in a dark corridor is worth less than a half-empty bag that reaches the stash.
The Hab Cluster is a labyrinth, not a lobby
Unlike multiplayer extraction shooters, HOPE 01 is single-player and PvE. The tension comes from 60+ enemy types, dark rooms, food and water, and a map that folds back on itself. Districts you will hear named in-game and in footage include medical wings, the Bureau of Common Safety, and Hab Rail. The Hab Cluster Map is the exploration page: how corridors connect, why you should landmark extracts, and how to treat locked or unlit branches without getting greedy.
Boss rooms exist inside that same web. Some are scripted story beats, some are rooms you walk into because you chased a sparkle. Boss Fights is for loadout, dodge windows, and the decision to leave a boss for a later print instead of donating a kit.
Past the first-hour loop, the campaign asks you to help survivors and push toward HAB 01 across a completable Early Access build with multiple endings. Use NPC Quests for how survivor jobs fit extract and stash, Multiple Endings for spoiler-light finale prep, and the fan Early Access Review if you are still deciding whether the tension is for you.
What this wiki will not do
Early Access began on Steam on September 15, 2026. Bending Boy Games lists 70+ weapons, 200+ items (the Steam Early Access blurb also says 250+ collectables), 60+ enemies, 50+ quests, numerous bosses, and multiple endings. Playtests for a first ending sat around 50–70 hours. That is a lot of surface area, and it will grow: more quests, endings, guns, gadgets, enemies, and bosses are the stated EA plan.
Because the build is still moving, these guides teach systems, not a fake complete loot table. We will not invent gun names, quest titles, or boss HP values that we have not seen in official copy or public footage. When a number is Steam’s own listing — including the odd 16 MB RAM line — we quote it and flag it. For current rankings, pair this hub with the Weapons Tier List and Early Loadouts.
How to use the guide pages
Each child page is written to answer a search, then point you to siblings:
- Getting Started — hideout loop, first kit, food, and what to ignore.
- Controls — movement, dodge, melee, flashlight, inventory, reload-by-drag.
- Fabricator — blue dots, fabric types, print costs, scan-once blueprints.
- How to Extract — timers, rail/monorail, stash rules, death cost.
- Hab Cluster Map — districts, extracts, darkness, Metroidvania routing.
- Boss Fights — when to fight, what to bring, when to leave.
- Beginner Walkthrough — a first-hours sequence you can actually follow.
- Multiple Endings — spoiler-light prep for 5+ endings, epilogues, and completable EA.
- NPC Quests — 50+ survivor jobs, demo Kio Girl lessons, extract-safe rewards.
- Early Access Review — fan framing of EA strengths, caveats, and launch reception.
If you are about to leave the hideout, open the Loadout Checklist and print only what the next route needs. If the machine itself is the confusing part, stay on Fabricator until scanning feels automatic. If the client feels late or paints wrong, use Troubleshooting before you blame the Cluster.
Survival habits that transfer to every page
A few rules show up in every good run:
- Scan before you sell or dump. Unscanned items are future prints. Blue markers on the fabricator screen are the tell.
- Fabrics are the real currency. Public (everyday) fabrics, medical fabrics, and military fabrics are not interchangeable. Citizens in the setting received stipends of cubic fabrication material — nicknamed fabrics or bricks — to print food and clothing. You will spend those bricks on ammo, food, and tools.
- Light is a gadget slot. Until you have a gun-mounted light, the flashlight occupies the utility slot and eats your attack flow in dark rooms.
- Food and water are loadout. A caloric converter can burn calories for energized and regeneration, but only if you still have calories. Print consumables; do not assume health packs cover hunger.
- Inventory is tetris. Items do not always stack the way FPS players expect. Leave a hole for the extract loot you actually want.
Use Updates Hub when a patch changes fabric economy or boss behaviour, and Links Hub for Steam, Discord, and the developer’s socials. This is a fan wiki, not an official manual, but every internal link on these pages points at a real guide that exists on the site.
The shortest path through the wiki for a brand-new player is Getting Started → How to Extract → Fabricator → Beginner Walkthrough. Come back here when you need a different problem solved.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Which HOPE 01 guide should I read first?
Read Getting Started first, then How to Extract. Surviving the timer matters more than any gun you find on the floor.
Is HOPE 01 single-player?
Yes. It is a single-player PvE extraction RPG. There is no multiplayer. The threat is the Hab Cluster, hunger, darkness, and missing extract.
Do I keep loot if I die?
No. Gear you have not extracted and stashed is lost with the run. Scan blueprints when you can, then extract. Details are in How to Extract.
Where do I learn the fabricator?
The Fabricator page covers scanning, fabric types, and printing. Scan first, print second, and do not spend rare fabrics on novelty guns.
